Business graduate students present what they learned at the WTC | News

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Business program graduate students highlighted what they learned at Western Technical College.

Returning after two years, Tuesday’s event was described as a celebration before students graduate by Gary Brown, the dean of the business program.

Highlighting five different focuses of the business curriculum – digital media production, business management, graphic design, marketing management and IT – students were able to showcase what they have created.

“It’s an amazing time of year because we see all the work they’ve done over the last few years to get where they are and get to this point,” Brown said. “It’s definitely one of my favorite events because I get to showcase the students and showcase that work.”

While the event aimed to share the students’ creations with family and friends, Brown said students have already received job offers at the event.

He highlighted the fact that within the framework of the business sector, employment in any industry is possible.

“The beauty of being an accountant, the beauty of being a human resources manager or one of the careers we prepare people for is that they cross all industries,” Brown said. “I think one of the things that’s really cool about the business programs we offer is that you can kind of get into any industry.”

Nearly 50 students shared their creations during the Tuesday evening events.
