Launch of the “Arts in Hong Kong” campaign to highlight the city’s attractiveness as an artistic and cultural hub


Building on the organization of international arts and cultural events, the Hong Kong Tourism Board is launching an “Arts in Hong Kong” campaign to introduce global audiences to the city’s extraordinary and enduring appeal as a arts and culture center. The campaign aims to further raise Hong Kong’s international profile, offering in-depth community arts and culture tours and interactive arts and technology experiences to encourage local audiences and visitors to rediscover the city from a cultural perspective.

HKTB Executive Director Mr. Dane Cheng said, “In-depth travel experiences have become a major global trend, and arts and culture is a key driver of this trend. The Hong Kong Tourism Board has held an “Art Month” promotion for the past nine years, when international events have been held in the city to generate city-wide artistic vibes. In addition to hosting large-scale events, new world-class artistic landmarks such as M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum are also opening, enhancing Hong Kong’s appeal as an artistic and cultural travel destination. . As the city’s art scene grows richer than ever, the HKTB will make “Arts in Hong Kong” a year-round promotional platform to raise awareness of the ever-diverse experience of Hong Kong arts and culture. city ​​and establish Hong Kong as an East-meets-West center for international cultural exchange.”

“Arts in Hong Kong” is rolling out in May with international events including Art Basel Hong Kong and French May, as well as a series of unique neighborhood projects headlining a series of promotions to demonstrate that large-scale arts and cultural events are back in Hong Kong. The campaign will also be part of HKTB’s existing “Hong Kong Summer Treats” promotion which encourages residents to explore Hong Kong from new perspectives.

The HKTB works closely with organizers of international arts events held in Hong Kong to increase their impact. It has partnered with Art Basel Hong Kong to run online tours, for example, and has invited Hong Kong artists to bring an explosion of color to the streets by displaying their inspiring works on the city’s iconic trams.
